Overdrive/Kindle News!!!

Penguin Titles can no longer be transferred wirelessly to Kindles.

Penguin Press, publisher of popular fiction titles, has stopped wireless transfer to Kindle devices and will no longer offer its ebooks and audiobook titles through Overdrive.

Important News- Apple Devices with iOS 5

There is a compatibility issue with WMA audiobooks not working on Apple devices that have upgraded to the new operating system iOS 5.

A new version of the Overdrive Media Console has been released that fixes this. Please download the latest version:

Note: WMA Audiobooks will now show up under 'Playlists' rather than under 'Audiobooks.'

What is Overdrive?

ebook readers Overdrive is the name of our digital materials service.   Overdrive allows you to download audiobooks, ebooks, videos and music to use on your home computer or to transfer to a compatible mobile device.

 

You can check out and download the following types of digital materials using Overdrive

  • Adobe® PDF eBooks
  • Adobe® EPUB eBooks
  • Kindle eBooks
  • OverDrive WMA Audiobooks
  • OverDrive MP3 Audiobooks
  • OverDrive Music
  • OverDrive Video


To access these digital materials you need…

  • A valid EBRP library card
  • Internet access (preferably high speed) and/or a wireless connection
  • A computer or device that meets the system requirements for the digital materials you want to check out
  • Free software for your computer or compatible device
