Resources for People Experiencing Homelessness: Domestic Violence

The resources in this guide are intended to help anyone in the Baton Rouge area currently experiencing homelessness.

Capital Area Family Justice Center

The Capital Area Family Justice Center creates a welcoming environment in which a multi-disciplinary team of professionals works together in one, centralized location to provide coordinated services to victims of domestic violence and their children.

Prior to the family justice center's opening, victims of domestic violence would have to visit numerous agencies to receive vital services and assistance. With the coordination of these resources through the family justice center, the burden of having to navigate through an already difficult situation is relieved by our passionate staff.

CAFJC serves the following eight (8) parishes: East Baton Rouge, West Baton Rouge, Iberville, Ascension, Pointe Coupee, East Feliciana, West Feliciana, and Livingston.

The family justice center is open Monday - Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and no appointment is necessary.

Our number is (225) 239-7880.

If you need assistance outside of our hours of operation, please call the 24-hour Crisis Line: 225‑389‑3001
