Innovation Space @ Bluebonnet Regional Branch Library: Find a 3D model or Make your own

3D Model Repositories

3D Design Resources

There are a number of ways that you can design a 3D model from scratch. The following is a short list of some of the options available. Where possible, we've provided links to products that are open source or free of charge. All software descriptions are directly quoted from the respective software designers' websites.

In-browser 3D modeling:

"Tinkercad is an easy-to-use tool for creating digital designs that are ready to be 3D printed into physical objects. Users are guided through the 3D design process through 'Lessons', which teach the basics before moving on to more complex modeling techniques."

"SketchUp Free is the easiest way to draw in 3D, now delivered in a web browser. Draw, orbit, push-pull: make anything you can imagine, however you envision it."

Desktop 3D modeling software and tools:

"Hobbyists, kids and backyard spaceship builders all agree that SketchUp Make is the easiest, most fun, entirely free 3D drawing tool in the world. We think you will, too."
