Government: How Do I Get a Passport?

If this is your first time applying for a passport you have to do it in person. You can find local locations that accept passports here. 

• Complete the application for a passport DS-11
• Bring the required evidence of citizenship with you such as a birth certificate or naturalization certificate.
• Also provide a current ID such as driver's licence or state ID.
• Bring two identical passport photos: details here
• Pay the fee. Here is a list of current charges.
