Mid City Micro-Con 2020: "Creating the Future, Expanding Our Universe": Virtual Creator Scavenger Hunt

Celebrating representation in comics, art, cosplay, & more

No Tables? No Problem

We may not have a physical arts and comics market this year, but the wonderful creators who participate in our micro-con are absolutely worthy of hunting down. Complete this virtual scavenger hunt to win a prize!

SCAVENGER HUNT RULES

  • The contest is "live" from 5pm Friday, August 21st, to 5pm Saturday, August 29th. Submissions received after the closing time will not be counted.
  • A master list of questions is provided below. You can answer any questions you want, but you must answer at least five to win.
  • Anyone who correctly answers at least five questions from the master list can pick up a prize at the Main Library on Goodwood.
  • You can find all answers on pages you'll find in the "Creator" tab. Submit your answers by emailing midcitymicrocon@gmail.com. Please include the questions you've chosen to answer in your email.
  • GRAND PRIZE - The most complete submission (correct answers to the most questions) that is received first will win a prize packet that may include comics, graphic novels, and/or other cool stuff! So:
    • If you're the first person to send in your answers, and you answer every question correctly, you win the grand prize!
    • If you're the last person to submit your answers, but you are the only person to answer every question correctly, you win the grand prize!
    • The earliest, most complete submission wins the grand prize.

What's a virtual scavenger hunt?

A regular scavenger hunt gives you a list of things to find, and usually you take pictures to prove you've found them. A virtual scavenger hunt sends you through the vast wilds of the internet to find specific pieces of information! You're provided with links or signifiers to where all of the information can be found, and you have to explore those sites to find the answers to the scavenger hunt questions. Some of the questions might be kind of hard, and some of them will be really easy. It's a great way to explore Baton Rouge's wonderful talent without leaving your home.

Why a virtual scavenger hunt?

Because of COVID-19, we are not able to host an in-person arts and comics market. Setting up a virtual scavenger hunt gives you a specific thing to look for on each page, so you'll still be able to get to know the artists and creators that are participating in this year's Mid City Micro-Con. Don't forget to stop and look around a little while you're scavenging!
