The Mid City Micro-Con is an annual event organized by the East Baton Rouge Parish Library which celebrates diverse and inclusive comics, creators, and fans. We strive to connect our EBR community to local creators and amplify voices in comics and fandoms to highlight authentic and positive representation and storytelling.

Holy Trivia, Batman!: Comic Book Trivia

  • Holy Trivia, Batman! How much do you know about comic book characters, movies, and tv shows? Put it to test in a friendly competition at your local library! We’ll be doing random comic book trivia with increasing difficulty until we get to a multiverse maddening FINALE! This event will lead into our Mid City Micro-Con on Saturday & Sunday which celebrates diverse creators, characters, fans, & local artists!

3 - 3:50 pm : The Blue-Collar Girls' Guide to a Hollywood Writing Career  

  • Ever dreamed of breaking into Hollywood and writing for your favorite shows, movies, and comics? Join the writing team of Desirée Proctor and Erica Harrell as they discuss their own journey from small towns in Florida to working industry writers, and how you can apply what they’ve learned to your own career.   • In partnership with the Capitol Park Museum & their upcoming exhibit, "The Negro Motorist Green Book", we'll discuss incorporating Black History in visual storytelling through creative worldbuilding.
