Our Library system has more than 2,800 subscriptions to over 600 magazine titles, with more than 145,000 magazine and newspaper issues system wide.
We have magazines on current events, gardening, cooking, science, art, entertainment, Louisiana history and hundreds of other subjects. All magazine titles are listed in the catalog and are searchable, just like books and movies.
We also keep some titles forever, with issues going back to 1920s and 1930s.
Some titles are carried at every branch. However, each location also chooses particular or special magazine titles just for their own location.
Magazines check out just like books. Fines are $.05 per item, per day over due, per checkout/renewal with a maximum fine of $3.00 per checkout/renewal.
If a magazine has items marked received in our catalog, they are reference only and do not check out.
