The Baton Rouge Digital Archive provides access to various collections housed in the Baton Rouge Room. One such collection is the WAFB Newsreel Films. WAFB Television began broadcasting in Baton Rouge in 1953. In the 1980s the station donated 1,300 reels to the East Baton Rouge Parish Library, and in 2010 the Baton Ruoge Room began an effort to digitize the films to make them more accessible to patrons.
